In this website, we will endeavour to trace the story of the Sillon movement in Belgium.
We can group the Sillon’s fields of influence in Belgium to four main groups:
a) Christian Democratic groups around the turn of the 20th century in Brussels and elsewhere
b) The Sillon group in Liège founded by Paul Tschoffen
c) Students of Professor Victor Brants at the University of Louvain
d) Joseph Cardijn, founder of the Jeunesse Ouvrière Chrétienne (JOC) or Young Christian Workers (YCW) and his network.
This site is a developing story and we will continue to add to it progressively.
